Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions

Do I need to be able to swim for Ocean Walker?

NO! Ocean Walker is specially designed for people who cannot swim. The special helmet supplies air continuously so that you breathe normally like on land. You simply walk on the sea floor with the weight of the helmet stabilizing you.

How to breathe in a helmet?

The Ocean Walker helmet is connected to an air compressor on the surface via a hose. Fresh air continues to flow into the helmet so you breathe normally through your nose and mouth as usual. Your face remains dry and not wet at all!

Is it safe if I am afraid of drowning or claustrophobic?

The helmet is so wide and transparent that you can see out clearly — there's no closed-in feeling. The instructor is always with you underwater, and you can give the signal at any time if you want to go up. Many participants who were initially afraid of the water actually really enjoyed the experience!

What will I see at the bottom of the sea?

You'll walk among colorful coral reefs, see tropical fish swimming around you (clownfish, angelfish, parrotfish), and maybe see starfish or sea turtles. The instructor will feed the fish so they come closer to you — perfect for photos!
